Exhibition Artsquare Museumplein Amsterdam 2015
The participation in the exhibition Artsquare Amsterdam come from the nomination for the van Gogh prize. The orange medallion ‘Letters to Theo‘ was nominated by the jury of this prize, held by the van Gogh museum.
This xl medallion was inspired by the painting of the bedroom of van Gogh. The translation of this painting into a 3D story caused a lot of attention. The letters Vincent van Gogh wrote to his brother Theo can also be seen in this work. Together with the loose way of living and the vase with sunflowers. He painted the sunflowers when he lived in Arles and where he painted his bedroom in a very clean way.
The other works were inspired by Vermeers Milkmaid & Girl with the Pearl earring and Rembrandts Night Watch. These works, called ‘Burning out‘, ‘Keep your chin up‘ and ‘Boys will be boys‘, were exhibited in Amsterdam to a large international audience.
